Recap

Sup yall. I have a lot to catch up on. My focus for the website was just to use it as a source to send agents while applying to different talent agencies, but with life changing so fast everyday in CA my focus is as well.

It has been about a year since my last post, maybe longer. In the past year, I started working background for different tv shows and movies. This was really a cool job because all you do is act as the background in scenes from movies and your favorite TV shows. The set provides lunch and dinner and everyday is much different than the last. Some days I was a police officer, a burn victim, a hispanic refugee(hate playing stuff like this btw), a dancer, an over the top gay guy, and period style clothes like 70’s and 60’s. Some of my friends even said they saw me on TV! I started a job at a virtual reality gaming arcade named Los Virtuality early 2019. I seriously loved this job because of my love of gaming. I also quit that same job about a week ago lol.

I had my third and last knee surgery in August of last year. The doctors and I came to a conclusion that I just will no longer have an ACL in my left knee, almost a year later and this is without a doubt the strongest I have been in my life. I also recieved my personal training certification through NASM. I plan on either joining a gym as a personal trainer or taking my efforts online and creating a business through this website (currently pursuing the ladder option). I got to meet the SINGLE individual that inspired me to start dancing, Salah the Entertainer. I got to spend a lot of time with him, learning how he treats his body, his outlook on life, and of course we danced…A LOT! He showed me about community and sense of higher purpose while he was here visiting from France. He is one of the most hard working humble individuals I have ever met, and I can truly call him a brother. I have taken many popping classes and choreography classes, as well as competing at a few battles around the LA area.

Currently, I am in between jobs. As I write this I DoorDash and UberEats to make consistent money while applying to gyms and trying to get my website where I want it to be. I still do background every so often but since I joined SAG-AFTRA last November work has slowed down. I got signed to a talent agency, AB2 Talent Agency. They are a small agency but I don’t mind while I build up my resume. I have been on many auditions through them and learned a lot from each audition. However I have not landed any big substantial roles or gigs since my finger tutting commercial with Strobe and ET last June.

Also did I mention I am engaged now? :) Asked Estacey to marry me last October around my birthday back home at a park where we met. One of the best days of my life. Me and my best friend are choreographing and rehearsing an intense fighting action short film we want to shoot by the end of the year. I really have a lot of high hopes for it because we have been rehearsing for quite some time. I apply to be apart of short films and student films constantly to build my resume, though haven’t heard back from any of those either. The grind is rough out here in California. I feel defeated constantly and this is for sure been some of the most difficult times in my life. With that being said I know that only with persistence and clear goals can I achieve what I moved out here to do, to chase my dreams.

Having lived in LA for almost 2 years now I do not know what my dreams are anymore honestly. For years I only wanted to dance, maybe background for Chris Brown or with Cirque du Soleil. After living here I am not sure if I want to go that route, as most dancers I know REALLY struggle financially, even the more successful ones. I see that nowdays, especially in our society, you have to shoot for the stars to have a chance at being successful. Instead of wanting to dance for someone else, I want to create a brand where other dancers can come share their passion and knowledge. Where dance and fitness and be combined to teach people about their physical, mental, and emotional selves. I seek purpose nowadays, and just like this blog and website, I take small steps daily to achieve these goals. Pictures of my adventures and life below! Enjoy!
